Shreddies were developed in the late 2000s by product designer Paul O’Leary in Leicestershire, UK. At the time, Paul was suffering from a stomach problem which left him unable to go to work and he struggled to leave the house even to socialise. His experience as a product designer meant that he was perfectly positioned to come up with a practical solution to a situation that he knew many other people found themselves trapped in too.

Paul reached out to several textile designers around the world to find a fabric that could potentially aid with malodorous flatulence. He took the materials to local scientists at DeMontfort University who aided in researching and developing the final patented design which uses an activated carbon cloth, sandwiched between two layers of jersey fabric.

Shreddies now has an award-winning range of products for both men and woman and is popular with customers all over the world.

Shreddies were recognised for their innovative work and were awarded the 'Look Good, Feel Good' Award from the Association for Continence Advice (ACA). The ACA are an organisation for health and social care professionals and the award was created in order to recognise products which are comfortable, attractive and instill the user with confidence.

Since 2013, Shreddies small team has been based on the idyllic banks of the River Soar at Cotes Mill in Leicestershire, UK. All of Shreddies garments are designed and handmade here by our skilled team of makers.
